National webinar on “Securing Youth against Cyber Crime Threats”

ADGP Dr. Varun Kapoor gives tips on Cyber Security, addresses students through a webinar. Department of Computer Science, St Xavier’s College, Jaipur on 14 September 2020. The resource person of the Webinar was Dr. Varun Kapoor renowned IPS Officer, ADGP – RAPTC from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. 

During the webinar, Varun Kapoor addressed the students that we are living in two kinds of world, one is real, and the other is virtual. He also commented that “Youth has to take one step forward to control and help in handling the threats related to Cyber Crime and support in creating awareness for it.”. He also discussed a few case studies to make the participants aware of the rise in cybercrime in the current scenario. 


He also explained threat when someone indulges in sharing about their life on social media, it becomes a harboring point for cybercrimes. He stated a few tips and urged them to be careful while sharing the information, photos, and videos only with the trusted ones. Rev Father Dr. A. Rex Angelo, S.J, Principal of our college addressed the students about the importance and need for acquiring the knowledge of cybercrime threats and security measures. 

He also added that in the current scenario, it is really important to ensure that we all should be aware of how to protect ourselves online.

Creative Strategies: ORGANIC FARMING AT HOME

The Department of Computer Science and Tech-X (IT CLUB) is organizing an extension activity for sensitizing students and faculties to social issues on "Food Security in Covid"19" in collaboration with Faculty Enrichment and Exchange Programme Cell (FEEPC) on 25 November 2020. Organic farming involves natural methods without any harmful chemicals, c ingredients, or synthetic elements to fertilize, feed or increase growth it relies on natural techniques such as crop rotation, organic compost, green manure, and biological and natural pest control methods. The Department of Computer Science and Tech-X Club is organizing a Panel Discussion on the theme (The Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019- A vision for future security) and Handson Experience on Data Privacy Methods on 28 January 2020 to celebrate the Data Privacy Day. Data Protection Day serves as an opportunity for us to remember the value of data and the right for data transparency. It’s a moment for us to re-evaluate how we’ve been collecting, sharing, and using data – and find new, better pathways toward keeping that valuable data from being exploited, misused, or lost. The webinar will focus on technology’s growing impact on our privacy. One day training program on “Soft Skills - A fundamental Requisite for All Professions”

On Monday the 16th August 2021 the Department of Computer Science of St Xavier’s Collee – Jaipur organised one day training program on “Soft Skills - A fundamental Requisite for All Professions” for the benefit of pre-final year students of the department. Prof Dr. Dawn S S, Professor (Research) and Head Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai 600 119 was the resource person fro this training program. During the formal introduction session Ms. Keren Daniel, coordinator of the progamme welcomed the gathering and also introduced resource persons to the audience. While addressing students, Prof. Dr. Dawn SS , focused on the efforts of capturing the attention of the student through a virtual game for providing state-of-the art facilities to the students to make them successful in their career. Adding to it, the speaker also emphasized on the ability to Adapt to the change for the future and gain confidence in difficult situations. And ended on a note saying, “If you are a person who learns quickly, it is because you know how to adapt”. The event came successfully to end after the Q&A Sessions.

The Xavier’s Cyber Security Cell (XCSC) in association with Department of Computer Science and Tech-X Club has organized a Webinar on the theme (India: Key features of The Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019- A vision for future security) on 27-28 January 2022 to celebrate the Data Privacy Day.
